The Wunderlich Foundation’s Legacy Recording Project at Southern Nevada Music

October 1, 2023

Dear Music Lovers,

We are excited to present an unprecedented musical passion project. Inspired by the legacy of Yvonne Wunderlich (1929-2023), the Wunderlich Foundation and Southern Nevada Music will provide free recording sessions to musicians residing in the Las Vegas area.

Yvonne Wunderlich enjoyed a remarkable 62-year career as a classical soloist in Pennsylvania, yet only 19 recordings of her work exist. Her story has inspired us to sponsor a uniquely original recording project.

This project has been created to showcase and celebrate your musical heart. We encourage all musicians to bring their unique craft to the table, with a focus on music that makes the heart sing. This is not a traditional competition, but an opportunity to become part of a growing musical family. Our goal is to create one-of-a-kind recordings that the Wunderlich Foundation and its namesake would be proud to showcase.

Stylistically, there are three genres to choose from: Original works, printed music, and improvisation.

To apply fill out our online application

  • Our focus is on individuals or small groups (of up to 10 members).
  • Sessions are open to all instruments.
  • Projects are accepted at our sole discretion.
  • Recording sessions will be scheduled from November 2023 through May 2024.
  • All recordings will take place at Southern Nevada Music’s new Concert Hall and recording studio.
  • Submit the application for your project by November 30, 2023.

We are currently funded for 100 hours of production time. As the scope of this project is still to be determined, we invite and gladly accept donations to deepen our musical palette.

Sincerely,

Denise & Lisa Wunderlich
